BOXING great Lionel Rose’s goddaughter Ruby Rose Langenheim is ready to take on all challengers in MTV’s national VJ search.
“Yes, he is my godfather and I was named after him,” Ruby said.
“I am also the great granddaughter of Alec Campbell, the last Anzac.”
The hip, edgy actor/model, who is known as Ruby Rose, is one of 10 finalists in the search for a VJ with “MTV spirit”.
“As far as I can tell, MTV spirit is about being yourself 150 per cent, not censoring anything and not conforming to anything,” Ruby said.
“That is what I have always wished I could do. Being a model there is always something they want to change whether they want someone a little bit skinnier, a little bit taller, or a little bit bigger, but with MTV they want you to come and be yourself.
“I definitely think I have the spirit they are looking for.”
Ruby has had some experience in national searches, having been a finalist in the Girlfriend Model Search in 2002.
“I lost to Catherine McNeil, who is now a multi-million dollar supermodel,” she said.
